Through coding, Rachit found more than just a new skill. He discovered creativity, resilience, and a deep love for technology. Rachit’s curiosity reminds us of what’s possible when students are given the tools and trust to lead their own learning journeys.
At Peepul, we believe that curiosity can spark transformation—and Rachit, a brighteyed 6th-grade student from CM RISE Nanda Nagar, Madhya Pradesh proves just that. As part of the Amazon Future Engineer (AFE) programme, Peepul has been working to make digital literacy a reality for thousands of students across Madhya Pradesh. We’ve partnered with 274 CM RISE schools, reaching nearly 50,000 students with a first-of-its-kind computer science curriculum approved by the state’s Rajya Shiksha Kendra (RSK). From the basics of computers and MS Office tools to digital citizenship and blockbased coding on Scratch Jr and Scratch, students are getting a strong foundation for the future. Rachit’s curiosity began when he overheard an older student excitedly talking about a project he had built using Scratch—a block-based coding platform taught in Grades 7 and 8. As a Grade 6 student, Rachit was only learning Scratch Jr. as part of his syllabus. But he was already hooked. He thought, “Why wait?” Fired up by his curiosity, Rachit began exploring Scratch on his own.
He visited the website, watched tutorials, and started experimenting. The colourful interface, the logical puzzles, the freedom to build—everything drew him in. but co-creators of academic transformation. Shaikshik Samwad is more than a programme, it’s a testament to the power of community-led professional development in improving the quality of education.

With help from his teacher and encouragement from seniors, Rachit taught himself how to use Scratch, navigating bugs, testing logic, and celebrating small wins. His perseverance paid off. Rachit’s selftaught skills led him to participate in the International Kids Coding Competition (IKCC)—a global platform where children from 45 countries competed. Despite the odds, Rachit’s project was selected as one of the top entries from India. Out of only 30 entries allowed per country, 18 were from CM RISE schools, including him. He earned a Certificate of Achievement—a recognition not just of his talent, but of his drive.
