Kruti Bharucha

She realised that the gross socio-economic inequality in our society impacted the ability of parents to mobilise support for their children and the public education system of India was their only bet to grow out of poverty. That is when she decided to utilise her skillset as an executive to create impact at scale by catalysing the entire public education system.

In 2014, she took small but consistent steps to work closely with the public schools in India under the Exemplar Schools Project. Today she manages a portfolio of 7 programmes spread across Madhya Pradesh and Delhi, where more than 10% of our children can hope for better educational outcomes.

Prior to Peepul, Kruti worked in various management and leadership roles. She kickstarted her career by working at the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, where she specialised in education sector policy, fiscal policy and financial sector reform. Later, she joined the Corporate Executive Board (CEB), in Washington DC where she managed the research, product development and client advisory in for their technology vertical. Later, she shifted to India as the Senior Director to lead CEB’s finance practice in India. At McKinsey and Co., she expertized in diverse sectors such as consumer goods, retail and agri-business.

An economist by training, Kruti has completed her MSc (Development Studies) with a distinction at the London School of Economics, MA (Economics) from the University of Maryland and her BA (Economics) with Distinction from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi.
